Dr. Scott Strasburger, MD
Dr. Strasburger is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and has been practicing medicine for over 20 years.
Dr. Strasburger is originally from Holdrege, NE and received his bachelor’s degree in life sciences from Nebraska. He played football for the Cornhuskers and was a third-team All-American and a two-time All-Big Eight selection at Nebraska. Strasburger was also an academic All-American and earned the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award and postgraduate scholarship in 1984. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1985.
Strasburger attended the Nebraska Medical Center School of Medicine and served a surgical internship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. Strasburger returned to Tennessee for his orthopaedic residency and received advanced training at the world-renowned American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala.
Strasburger specializes in complex shoulder issues, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, shoulder and knee replacements, ACL and all other knee and sports related injuries. He also has years of experience helping patients with other orthopaedic and sports medicine needs.
Strasburger is married and has three children. He is passionate about his community and supports a variety of charities including the UNL Catholic Newman Center, Make a Wish and Cystic Fibrosis.

HOW TRADITIONAL TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT METHODS WORK
Using traditional surgical methods, cutting blocks or guides are placed on the thigh bone (femur) and shin bone (tibia) to help direct a surgical saw in removing the diseased bone and cartilage.
